Just leave it on and Midnight Manager^® will do the rest. How the Backup Works

Midnight Manager^® goes to work when you tell it to. All processing starts on your machine. The Midnight Manager^® scheduler on your local computer knows when to start working and what to start working on.

Files are selected by Midnight Manager^® according to your instructions. Then they are compressed into packets of data for digital transmission. But, before they are finished, each packet is encrypted and password protected - locally, on your computer. Nothing leaves your machine that can be seen by anyone else.

Then your computer initiates the communications to the Midnight Manager^® server in charge of placing your data in our online data farm vault (where it will stay for as long as a year). The Midnight Manager^® data farm is pure backup data that is managed by professionals for safe keeping and storage when you need it most.

Compressed Data Packets
Midnight Manager^® “squeezes” your data into the smallest sizes possible before it’s ready for packaging up into transmission packets. Then we do more -

Data Encryption & Password Protection Access
Next, the packets are fully encrypted with state of the art encryption technology and your password locks the package for safe secure transmission over the Internet to our Midnight Manager^® data farm vault. Without the password, nobody can open your data files once they have been sent to the Midnight Manager^® data farm vault - not even us!

When You Need It - You Get It!
For as long as your data is kept in our Midnight Manager^® data farm vault online, all you have to do is use your local client program to get any file back during any period of time. That’s right, any period of time in the online archive. You can go all the way back and see what your data looked like at any point in time (so long as you are looking at the online Midnight Manager^® data farm vault).

When you use your Midnight Manager^® software, it knows your secret password and automatically retrieves the data you want. You can restore it to anywhere you wish (it doesn’t have to go back to the same place it came from).

There’s A Record For Every Session
Use the Midnight Manager^® service as often as you like. Every time it’s used, Midnight Manager^® creates a session log to keep track of everything that happens on your machine. You can see every backup, restore, or software upgrade session in clear detail, so you always know what has happened whenever you wish to take a look.

CD ROM Imaging
The Midnight Manager^® online data farm vault keeps a years worth of daily sessions. At the end of every month, data older than one year is retired from the online data farm vault to an archival vault. The archival vault keeps the data for another six years (a total of seven years of history), and then it is destroyed.

Customers can order periodic CD ROM images of their Midnight Manager^® data farm vault records, by scheduling these services at the Midnight Manager^® web site. These CD ROM images are created with compressed and encrypted files and cannot be opened without a valid password. The password recorded on the CD ROM image will be the password you were using at the time the CD ROM image was created. If you lose your password for any reason, the data on the CD ROM is lost forever. Protect your password!.

HIPAA
Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996

In addition to our HIPAA presentation seminars, Risk Assessment Services, and other HIPAA-specific services, Midnight Manager® is a flagship technology service that has been specifically examined to meet the legal requirements of HIPAA regulations.

Midnight Manager® meets or exceeds HIPAA regulation requirements in key areas:

All processing is done locally (encryptions, password protections, communications initialization.) Detailed logs are automatically created and kept for Midnight Manager^® transactions (backup, restore, updates.) "Data Continuity" is preserved and the historical record is permanently encrypted and password protected. "Chain of Trust Agreement" is automatically available to health care industry customers--at no additional charge. One of the key requirements in the HIPAA regulation is to provide a "Chain of Trust Agreement" in all relationships with third parties that may be handling Personal Health Information (PHI) records. You will find that Emeral Island Technology, Inc.has included that required document as part of the services extended to its Midnight Manager® customers in the health care industry.

Data Farm Vaulting Services

When you select your Midnight Manager^® Data Farm Vaulting needs, remember that your data is compressed when it is sent to the data farm. Our special technology is also very influential in saving data farm space requirements. Therefore, the files on your personal computer (known as "native" files) almost always take up more space on your computer than you will need to have at the data farm (known as the "archival" files).

You have unlimited online access to your Midnight Manager^® Data Farm Vault. You can contact your online account as often as you like, to backup files or to retrieve them.

You get a personal Independent Customer Service Representative (permanently) when you activate your Midnight Manager^® Data Farm Vaulting services, at these extraordinary values:
